Jonathan Clapp, MD, MS

Past President

Jon Clapp is a physiatrist with a special interest in treating patients with acute and chronic neck and low back pain. His approach for treating people suffering with acute and chronic pain is to maximize their function and quality of life. He feels this is done through any combination of education, medications, injections, Integrative Medicine (nutrition, herbal supplements, etc.), exercise therapy and overall wellness.

“My role is to empower patients with the knowledge and tools on how to manage their pain. Firstly, this is done by getting an accurate diagnosis. This requires a detailed (and sometimes, lengthy) evaluation. Secondly, it is crucial to use evidence-based practices for treatments that often result in minimizing injections, other procedures and potentially dangerous medications. I want patients to get better so they can live full, functional and healthy lives with the skills to care for themselves. As a public servant, I work FOR my patients. It is my duty to do my best to work with them as a team, so they can (hopefully) not need me anymore.”
